Apex Legends - World's Edge (Mobile Vehicles)

In Season 3 we released a new Multiplayer map called 'World's Edge.' These mobile vehicles were very challenging to create as they were the first vehicles I ever made from scratch with a functional interior. I modeled everything in Maya, then created most of their textures in Substance Painter. Fellow artist Paul Tran created the base tileable metal texture on the exterior that I was able to tint yellow and blue, then add dirt blends on top of. I created the ceiling, wall, and cloth interior textures, and did all the world building.

Most of the small props and tileable interior floor textures were existing assets shared across the Titanfall/Apex Art team and done by other artists. Jose Zavala created the door assets. Exterior terrain in these shots were done by Jose Zavala, and Jake Virginia.

Additional feedback came from Env Art Director Robert Taube and Designer Rodney Reece.

Concept by Cliff Childs.

Lighting by Austin Arnett.

Skydome by Marcos Shih.

In the interiors I also created the driving console and chairs with some UI assets from Senior Artist Brad Allen. Floor textures and metal window trim textures were created by other artists along with some of the small props.

This shot is a combination of work from many artists showing the mobile vehicles nestled in the landscape. Jake Virginia arted up the terrain, Tri Do built the giant rocks, Michael Altamirano made the building, and Brooke Olson created the train tracks.
